  1. What you are talking about is NOT and American problem its an EVERYWHERE problem. Here in Australia a couple of years ago we had a Royal Commission into our banking sector. Its the British system's equivalent to an American Senate Commission and similarly can subpoena people and lying under oath is perjury. UNDER OATH we had senior bank officials ADMIT to systematic crime at staggering levels. Millions of illegal acts by charging accounts for services that were never delivered and in many case never approved of by customers. They basically programmed the computers to charge every account for certain fees without telling anyone about it. They were small amounts but when you're charging millions of accounts it adds up. AND that was the minor stuff. We should have had several of our banks simply seized by our federal government under our equivalent of RICO because they were operating as organised crime syndicates. Just like happened after the 2008 GFC none of the people who should have been charged were ever charged with anything. The banks were given no more than a slap on the wrist and told to behave.
