Australian here and you have summed up the #1 Problem with Centrist politics across the world PERFECTLY. What most Americans, Australians, Brits, Canadians and everyone else doesn't realise is that this problem is GLOBAL and in particular involves 4 universities - Harvard, Yale, Oxford and Cambridge. There are some other universities that are part of the "elites" but those are the 4 dominant schools when it come to politics and economics. In Australia our politics and economics is dominated by people who did some of their studies at one or more of those 4 universities. Its not always obvious until you dig into their bios and find they did a year overseas at Harvard or Oxford. I actually went to college in America and did aerospace engineering at U. Illinois which by anyone's standards is a very good engineering school. I get looked down on here in Australia because when I studied in America I didn't go to Harvard. Plus to add to that, like all engineers and some other professions I get put down by people with economics degrees. So I absolutely understand your point of being looked down on. Its a lot more common than you think and it is about time we told these people to F--K OFF.
