I'm Australian but went to college in America and I can tell you that there are millions and millions of sane Americans. Its just none of them are in Washington. And before you aske we have a similar problem in Canberra. I was in Canada a few years ago and they expressed the same thoughts regarding Ottawa. I hear the Brits say similar about Whitehall and the Europeans say the same about Brussels. In fact I'd be surprised in there isn't a country with the same or similar issue.

Thanks for pointing out that RAND report. Just on a first glance its fairly damning and I agree that it looks like America was following that report/brief. HOWEVER you can take the Chinese being in control and shove that up or down which ever orifice you like. GO have an HONEST LOOK at China. Sure America is f*cked up right now but at least the American people can actually throw out the clown brigade in Washington. Try throwing out Xi Jinping and his gang and see what happens. You have obviously never done business with the Chinese. If you think the Americans can be arrogant and believe they are humanity's savior try looking into what the term "Middle Kingdom" actually means to the Han Chinese OR you could simply ask any of the non-Han minorities that have to deal with the Han Chinese.

@acidbot666 Yeah but even Jeff loses sight of practicality at times, which is an easy thing to do. I'm 100% in agreement with him that the West has mishandled its affairs with Russia. But as to how Vladimir Putin has behaved I have no doubt that's 100% his own making There's a line by Jack Nicholson in the film "A few Good Men." His character is utterly disgusting but he makes several poignant remarks. During the trial when he's snapping back he makes the point that our world has borders and despite all we'd like to think those borders need guarding. The simple fact is there are political leaders who always think they can invade somewhere or take something or get away with something and sometimes that something is incredibly vile. Vladimir Putin has (over the years) proven time and time again he is utterly ruthless and cannot be trusted. As horrible as that is we have to accept this is the world we live in. I really like Jeff but wish he'd be a bit more pragmatic at times.

@acidbot666 As for NATO being on the borders of Russia. Don't forget what the Russians did to those countries for almost 50 years. There's a good reason those countries HATE the Russians and its the same type of hate a lot of people have for America. After 9/11 the Americans bemoaned and wondered about why people in the Middle East hated them. There was an endless stream of clowns proclaiming to the world "Why do they hate us? We gave them Freedom and Democracy." The simple fact is they didn't give those people Freedom and Democracy they gave them military dictatorships. More often than not those countries HAD Democratically elected governments that the CIA overthrew - Iran, Chile, Indonesia, Guatemala,... all had democratically elected governments the CIA overthrew. The Russians overthrew ALL OF EASTERN EUROPE and then proceeded to enslave their populations imprisoning and/or killing ANYONE who disagreed. And the whole time they told everyone they were freeing them from the bourgeois capitalists and the debauchery, decadence and rock & roll. Different SHlT but the SAME STINK.

@linusverclyte4988 Are you throwing that comment about studying in America at me or someone else? Because if you are you shove it back down your ignorant throat.
