Did they ever hand it back? Rovo in his comment above said "Beyonce winning best country album is like Aerosmith winning best Hip Hop album for Walk this way."

You are totally right except the correct title to this video should be "Yet another example of how the Corruption and Greed of Neoliberal Economics ruined an Industry." I'm an aerospace engineer with 30+ years working in industrial control systems and automation. I have mostly worked in manufacturing and mining with stints in oil & gas, water treatment, waste processing, dairy and a few other odd jobs. This mentality is so rampant across every business sector I have worked in. You might not think that the current disaster that's Boeing is related to this but it is. Boeing used to have Lockheed and McDonnell Douglas as competitors in jets for airlines. BUT according to Neoliberals that's not efficient so they let Boeing swallow up their competitors. Once you get monopolised control of a market there's no other way to increase profits but to cut costs or raise prices and ECONOMISTS are obsessed with cutting costs and management are obsessed with finding new costs to add to consumers. Economists and Business Managers brag about efficiency but have NO IDEA what efficiency actually is or what it means in any given industry. All of the sorts of activities I am hearing here about costs and practices I can give similar examples in all of the industries I have worked. I can even use it to explain why we haven't been back to the moon for over 50 years.

There used to be this saying about "there's no such thing as bad advertising" By including these people on these lists or doing "what makes this song great" he's actually FREELY ADVERTSING their work to 2,710,000 million subscribers. This vid alone has been seen over 5.3 million times. These people aren't stupid. They aren't smart enough to be called stupid.

I'm an engineer so I see things from an engineering perspective. In software we talk about multi-tasking. Have a listen to that last piece and listen for how many guitars it sounds like are present. Tommy multi-tasks and an extraordinary level, does it in real time responding to the other guitarist and makes it look effortless. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

@robcreel4257 I'm similar. I don't think much of her sugar syrupy songs, but its the endless PR that puts me off a lot of artists. What impresses me in this story is that she's taking control of here life and career. So many of these people who start young are just treated like disposable puppets. So as a human being good on her for doing this.

This isn't a lesson for outsmarting the money thieves in music its ANOTHER lesson to out smart them. Remember the GameStop short selling by the hedge fund that got scrambled last year. Honestly I had little respect for TS. All I thought was she was just another cash generating singing bunny for a pack of music maggots. My respect for her has just gone way up but not too high I think like all stars she's over-hyped but that might have more to do with the maggots than her.

@indigotulip11 Sorry but ai disagree on the neoliberal thing. I'm an engineer but I have been privately studying economics for a couple of years trying to figure out why economists would NOT LISTEN to anyone. Its a long story but I'd recommend you join in a weekly podcast with Steve Keen and Friends. Steve's an economist who accurately predicted the 2008 GFC and a few other things. The first problem with neoliberals is that they are so ingrained in our economy that its like dealing with cancer. The second problem is they wont listen to anyone and ignore reality. The third problem with neoliberals is too many people ignore how much damage they are doing.

I was trying to figure out what to say. 👍👍👍

Sorry but AI will already be using it as a data source for WHAT NOT TO DO. Everything that is digitised as data including our comments right here right now is food for the AI beast. I am an aerospace engineer so you might expect I am pro-technology because that's how I make my living. I am 100% against AI for some simple reasons. 1) We DO NOT NEED IT despite all the promises and claims we DO NOT NEED IT. Yes, there are some things that it will help speed up but WE DO NOT NEED IT to get any of those tasks done. 2) Its a technology that has been massively over played on its capabilities and what it can actually do and most importantly HOW IT WORKS. AI for all the claims DOES NOT THINK and NEVER HAS. It calculates statistical probabilities based on the available data. Its just doing it in such a complicated way and considering so many variables that it appears to be thinking. 3) It has been proven time and time again that BAD DATA makes for bad simulations. Almost every engineer is told the simple thing of "garbage in, garbage out" when it comes to any and every form of simulation. The great problem of AI right now is that its being trained on public information WITHOUT first being trained on what the some concept of a FACT is. 4) The most egregious aspect of AI is that we have unleashed a technology that few understand and without any consideration of the effects whether they be short term effects or long term effects. Its being driven by technology obsessed narcissists who believe they know what you want, what you need and how you should think. Many years ago back in High School we studied a book that was as boring and depressing as any book any kid in High School ever read. It was about a man named Winston who lived in the middle class of his society. He had a good job for that society and even found a girl and fell in love with her. But it was a society where EVERYTHING was monitored and facts were what the ruling party decided what they were. One day Winston in his job came across a photo that he should not have had because it contradicted the facts as the ruling party had decided they were. Unfortunately took Winston down a fateful path. Eventually he was taken by the ruling and tortured. Eventually he broke and betrayed the girl he loved. Right now someone's AI is reading this and that AI is also noting that you have read this far. That book I studied in High School was George Orwell's novel "1984."

From Australia - YEAH We now know at least 1 publicist woke up. I wonder if the US election had anything to do with it. Because that's shocked the world to what social media can do. And it should not have been a shock because it was social media that got Barrack Obama elected it was how he raised his money. Then Brexit was won via social media with targeted advertising on Facebook. What Rick has shown in those stats is that social media stats (like all other stats) are a combinations of fact & fiction, truth & lies and reality and delusion. People can complain all they like but this is where things happen.

That is a brilliant way to put it. I actually copied your comment and pasted in another giving you full credit co buddy you deserve it.

I'm Australian and never heard of Karnivool before this. Its staggering the music industry (like some others) can't identify FREE publicity and promotion.
