That's a great sentiment but there are these things called "practical limits" and unfortunately guys like Elon have little regard for them. Bezos is another such person. He wants to do things like take all of the heavy industry off earth into orbit where there is unlimited energy from the sun to do whatever you want. But the practical limits are on how many rockets you'd need to fly a single boat load of iron ore up to orbit. I did aerospace engineering and after a chance meeting with Apollo 17's Harrison Schmitt who wants to mine the moon for Helium-3 I went off to the Australian mining industry to get some "practical experience." Helium 3 mining is practical because the tonnage is in the 30-50tons per year rage for the entire earth. But iron ore moves in boat loads of 80,000 tons and places like Port Hedland do over a dozen boatloads some days.

I'm Australian and I'd never heard of this until today. I'm an engineer and this is a truly incredible achievement just to get it this far.

That actually makes him no different than many other people with ideologies they think are perfect and absolute and that they have the right to force on others.

@abanoubraouf6959 No they didn't. There is NOTHING anywhere in the Bible that says they FORCED themselves on anyone. JESUS HIMSELF told them if you aren't welcome THEN LEAVE. Jesus also made it abundantly clear that so long as it did not compromise their beliefs they were to "Pay Caesars things to Caesar" which also includes that if a government says that you cannot go somewhere then YOU CAN'T GO THERE. The word "NO" has never seemed to registered in your brain.

I agree when you consider the hopeless lack of effective management of their own oil industry Maduro is simply doing a political "Look of there. Those people are the problem!" distraction from the reality of his own SHlTSHOW. He's made the most stupid mistake you can make. He picked a fight with America's oil industry.

Great video and the whole oil thing was so easy to predict. It was pretty obvious that no matter what sanctions got thrown at Russia there were going to be countries that still bought their oil. Plus with the Europeans buying oil from other places meant those suppliers weren't suppling to their normal customers and those customers still needed oil and would buy it somewhere else. People like Peter Zeihan had predicted that the Siberian wells would be devastated if they didn't keep the wells flowing. Because they go through the permafrost the water that's in the raw crude as it comes up can freeze in the well and destroy the casing which permanently wrecks the well. So they need to keep those wells in production which means the oil has to go somewhere. So the Russians were always going to find other people to sell their oil too because you can't simply cut that much oil out of the World's economy. The $60 cap just helped that process.

AND for the mathematically challenged among YouTube creators can you all please stop saying STUPID stuff like "4 times less" which is impossible unless you explain what "less" is in the context. You can't "times less" anything, and is why SMART people use fractions or percentages. Like "they only bought 1/4 of what they bought last year" or "they only bought 25% of what they bought last year" or "they bought 75% less than they bought last year." How many times to you STUPID arts degree clowns need basic math explained to you.

I'm Australian and you are dead right. We know nothing that goes on there and when I mean nothing I mean nothing. Other than counting how many antennas we can see on Google Earth, which tells us squat about the activities, we get zero. When he said threatening signs what he didn't say (because he might no know) is that if I as an Australian citizen step across a certain line then there's an American security agent who's pretty much free to shoot me. No Australian has been shot, but even the craziest of the anti-war and anti-American protesters know not to test it. For most Australians its a love/hate thing. For those of us who understand its great for our security and we know that if anyone did try and mess with Australia directly (and its come close a couple of times) that America will protect its assets and Pine Gap is one of America's most valuable strategic assets. The downside of that is that its also a first strike nuclear target. If a real US-Soviet or US-China shooting war ever started then Pine Gap is a very high priority target and likely to be struck in the first few minutes of any conflict. I have pilots license and one of the really odd things is that Alice Springs Airport has this massive main runway for a town or city of its size. Its so the Americans can fly in their larger cargo jets to supply Pine Gap.
