  1. Why is anybody surprised? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️ Go back to the very foundation of the FBI under J. Edgar Hoover and how he operated it. It was an internal spy agency that was out of control for decades.

  2. Actually the FBI have been doing this from the very foundation of the agency under J. Edgar Hoover. It was a rogue agency spying on the entire US population for decades before the Patriot Act ever existed. All the Patriot Act did was make some of its activities legal.
