Well current count is 548,013 (March 16, 2021) -> https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ About this time last year I started comparing the COVID toll to the capacities of North American Football stadiums. Day by day, week by week it rose up that list and eventually went past Michigan Stadium's 107,000 around June 1, 2020. By Early August it went past the 162,000 Bristol Speedway can hold and by about mid November it went past the 257,000 (permanent seats) of Indianapolis Speedway. Now its more than that. Can you imagine taking the entire crowd of a Michigan home game and simply killing them all and then doing it 4 more times? Can you imagine taking the crowd at the Indy 500 (~400,000) and killing them all and then killing all the crowd at Bristol? Well now you know what COVID-19 has done to America and all Mitch McConnell can do is spew out idiotic lies pandering to his base.

Yeah - he did?????????? But then his base live in an alternative reality and he panders to that reality. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

Tazmanian Devil I know but he will be deciding who the replacement is. Plus I wont believe he's going until he has actually left. He's addicted to power and such people don't tend to let go of power until they die.

Well actually his base cares and they keep electing him. So until his base get effectively informed, which is a seriously hard task considering they have had more than 2 decades of FOX rammed into their skulls, he will keep getting elected. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

@wwetnabamafan194 Yeah, you're right. Think about your college football stadium and just imagine if somebody killed every one in the stadium and then did the next week and the week after that. These people who have down played the size and scope of this tragedy are simply disgusting. I do hope that a way is found to hold them accountable.

@pamelalewis5063 I think he's wrong, but he's not a liar. McConnell's base cares what he says, but nobody else doe. The rest just wish he would simply take his 🐂💩 dishonest bad faith crap and farq-off.

@annhobson1975 Well by the framing of your question where are you from? I saw your other comment and don't disagree with most of it. But the Moscow Mitch slur is just partisan bullshit. McConnell's got nothing to do with Moscow and way too much of a connection to doing what the Federalist Society wants. Go and look at the appointment of judges and you'll understand that point. The Federalist society is the one group that Americans should be fearing more than anything else on the planet. Go do some basic research into them. Be careful they do control SCOTUS thanks to McConnell. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federalist_Society FYI - I'm Australian but went to college in America on a scholarship. I did aerospace engineering but a pack of my frat brothers were pre-law and they used to drag me into all sorts of hypothetical arguments for fun. It gave me an interesting education in the US Constitution. It was back in the era when civics was actually taught to all Americans and it blows my mind at times these days how utterly ignorant a lot of very mouthy Americans actually are. In those days (late 80s) Americans were incredibly knowledgeable about how their government worked and how the constitution was meant to work. These days all Americans seem to do is rant and rage about how the "other side" is threatening their constitutional rights. The lack of education and levels of ignorance is pretty staggering considering where America once was.

@Liftheavyrustylbs I have an odd take on all of this. I'm actually Australian but went to college in America (late 80s). On one hand I have a fairly personnel interest because of my friends and their families. On the other hand America is Australia's most important security and trading partner and we can't have a malfunctioning America. Thanks to people like McConnell America is malfunctioning. Worse still its an Australian Rupert Murdoch who's contributing. And before you ask yes he's a national embarrassment. I went to U. Illinois and actually spent my first Thanksgiving in Bardstown Kentucky. My buddy's dad worked at Makers Mark and I got a personnel tour and sampled some straight form the cask. I knew a few other Kentuckians as well and my experiences in Kentucky and with people from Kentucky are genuinely POSITIVE. I even visited Kentucky for business years later and caught up with the family who I spent that Thanksgiving with. McConnell simply does NOT represent the Kentucky I have experienced. So what I see (from my external viewpoint) is that Mitch McConnell does not represent Kentucky or Kentuckians. He represents a "faction." Every town, city, state and nation has various factions. Some are enlightened, some are reasonably well educated and others are as ignorant as a rock. Every nation has people like McConnell who are very good at appealing to rocks. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

@Liftheavyrustylbs Thanks. I just feel that every so often Americans need to be told that most of them are decent hard working folk and that others in the world know it. They know America is a great country, but like everybody else they have some ratbags. About the only difference is that America's ratbags are the Olympic gold medalists of being ratbags. The Russians try hard, The Chinese are catching up (rapidly) and the rest of us aren't far behind. In terms of wondering who's America's chief ratbag if have these similes: McConnell is the Bill Belichick of ratbags. He's not on the field but makes all sorts of arrangements and plays. Trump is/was the Tom Brady of ratbags. No matter how many times you think you've beaten him he makes another play. Zuckerberg, Uber, Bezos are the next gen upstart disruptor ratbags who throw things around wildly like Patrick Mahomes doing shit nobody expects or believes. NONE of that means any disrespect to Bill Belichick, Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. They are the best at what they do and I love how they do it.
