I'm Australian and that's the stupid ignorant answer. This is NOT a national issue its a global issue. Either we all solve the problem together or we all suffer.

@stephenmurphy1111 arrogant about what?? WTF do you even mean that I would need to be a professor to call out someone like Michael Kelly?? NEWS FLASH - professors can be wrong. Another of his kind is William Happer who's a professor emeritus from Princeton who also rides on his reputation and is also horrendously WRONG. These people are professors NOT Messiahs. So take you blind ignorance and stupidity somewhere else.

And can somebody else please tell all of these geriatrics to SHUT TF UP. This guy is 75 and its NOT about what we can and can't do its about him not having his retirement interfered with or interrupted or curtailed. Have you and others not noticed how old most of these guys are. FYI - I am an engineer and YES I absolutely agree that the current plans wont work, but as another engineer named Simon Michaux "Its not that we can't do things but we need a better plan." I disagree with a couple of Simon's ideas on alternative plans, but then that's because my experience is different to his. He's strictly a mining guy and his work on the materials side is 100% right. Its his industrial solutions I disagree with but then my background is different to his.

That's the first even close to sensible comment I have seen here. On both sides there's ideology and the ideology of both sides is WRONG. On one side we have unrealistic plans and on the other we have plan that surrender the future of the human race. There's and engineer named Simon Michaux who I (and I am also an engineer) agree with on many things but not all summed it up quite well. "Its not that we can't do things but we need a better plan."

@tonyclack5901 The attack is NOT on what he's saying its ON WHAT HE'S DOING which is the same damn thing his generation has done for the last 30 years which is NOT LET ANYONE ELSE GET ON AND DO ANYTHING. There's nothing new about the shortage of resources we have known most of that for over 20 years. We were always going to have an energy transition because of the simple fact that power stations wear out. We always knew that we'd need to replace the older power stations with bigger power stations because of population growth. This is the real reason I want the Baby Boomers to STFU. They wont shut up They wont let others speak They wont get out of the way and let anyone do anything that doesn't benefit them. THE REASON WHY we are running out of options is because of his generation.

@gedofgont1006 And also with age comes senility, Alzheimer's and dementia.

read what I said again it not simply this guy and his age there's a just a damn long line of old guys who are obviously milking what they can on this. Fine if they don't want to help fix things. That's their choice, but can they just get out of the road and let the rest of us get on with it. I don't mind if they want to jump in and say things like "we tried that years ago and it failed" but damn this incessant lineup of grumpy old white guys and their attitude of "don't tell me what to do" is wearing thin.

@stephenmurphy1111 Why don't you have a look at your own comments and ask who's the methinks sack if SHlT in this conversation. I am so over sorry sacks of hypocritical SHlT like you who throw crap at people accusing them of EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO. My bet is you're another of these old farts who belongs in a home shouting at the wind.

@robinearle7225 Yeah but after a certain age you cant see past the end of your nose.
1
@robinearle7225 I'm NOT young and I do know how completely moronic the young can be, but I am also old enough to see HOW ARROGANTLY BLIND older people can get. Some of these people have had their chances and wasted them and now instead of getting out of the way they linger and interfere AND its that interference I have no tolerance for.

@staninjapan07 IF you want to put data out front then its even MORE of a reason to tell him to shut up and go away. One of the single biggest problems across a whole range of subjects right now is the older generations preventing younger generations from doing anything. Go and listen to Scott Galloway on the subject. I'm a similar age to Scott (late 50s early 60s) and that age group just older than us have held up and choked of our careers for the last 30+ years. WE HATE THEM because they wont get out of the road and let other people do anything and they have been doing it for 30+ years. That's what triggers people in my age group when people in his age group wont go away and get out of the way. They have been in the way for 30+ years and its time to STOP IT.

I am an engineer and work with tradesmen of all sorts and YOU ARE WRONG. and here's my view of this clown. And can somebody else please tell all of these geriatrics to SHUT TF UP.
