The true stupidity of Netanyahu quoting about Amalek (and yes its spelt with a 'a') was that King Saul did not do as instructed and its what caused him to lose his crown. So not only is Netanyahu misquoting what he thinks he himself is allowed to do he's quoting something where the King acts improperly, the troops under his command act improperly and it gets him tossed from power. For any one interested the account is in 1 Samuel chapter 15 and you have to read right through to the end of the chapter to see what happens. Take note that the mistake made was the soldiers plundering with Saul's approval which was what they were explicitly told NOT to do. Forgetting the argument of why Amalek was being punished or if the punishment was overly harsh just consider the parallel to today and of the leader and his troops going BEYOND the rules of acceptable conduct. And that's the example Netanyahu is citing as justification for what he's done.

@thedoctor.a.s1401 I agree. Sam is normally so well spoken and his condemnation of Hams was after October 7th spot on. But his silence since is as you put it cowardice.

@johnzuma4688 And since those comments were made by Netanyahu has Sam Harris said ANYTHING? Sam made big deal on his own podcast that's here on YouTube about there being NO ABIGUITY that Hamas is an evil organisation just after October 7th. What has he said SO FAR about 1,000s of civilian deaths, the now more than 11,000 children killed by the IDF or any of the other WAR CRIMES committed by the IDF? Because I'd like to hear Sam defend those actions with his own DEFINITION of what IS and IS NOT ambiguous.

I think you are pretty much on the right path. There's all sorts of factors in racism.. There's a few things in this rant (for want of a better word) where Noura Erakat is pretty incredulous. Particularly for a university professor in International Relations (at Rutgers). She seems to not understand some basic concepts. 1) She paints racism as a white only problem. Yes White Supremacists are a blight on human society, but they are far from the only racists in human society. Its actually sourced from inter-tribalism and has been around since the dawn if history. Anytime you get a tribe or cultural group (for whatever reason) victimising in any way people of another tribe or cultural group you have basic racism. Anyone who's done even a basic sociology course learns that. 2) She repeatedly referred to Christian Zionists. Then in the transcript at 4;26 she says _"I don't even know what to call them."_ I find that utterly incredulous because the vast majority of Trump's Evangelical base are "Christian Nationalists" and in fact people like Marjorie Taylor Greene have openly declared themselves as "Christian Nationalists." How is it that an American University Professor with here resume NOT know this? Other than that I do think she's raised 2 really interesting questions: 1) What's the real political motivation for America's unflinching support for Israel? 2) What's the real motivation FOR SOME (not all) of the American Christian Fundamentalist support for Israel?
