Yeah because they think it will be other people NOT themselves who will get stripped of their Social Security and Medicare. What we are now seeing is a shift in the culture war to a war between generations. There's the baby boomers who got everything they ever wanted, cheap or free education, jobs for life, low cost housing with government guaranteed loans and when they got older tax breaks for their investments. They kept Gen-X from advancing their career paths because everywhere they looked there were boomers in the road forcing them to endlessly change companies and have little or no job security. They stripped Gen-Y (the Millennials) of an affordable education making it hard for them to own a home but forced them to rent housing from the baby boomers. They wrecked their job prospects by sending the jobs to other countries. They threw Gen -Z under the bus with everything they did to Gen-X and the millennials but did it even harder. What the boomers don't realise YET is that in the future they will need Gen-X,Y&Z to provide them with food, electricity, water and health care. With all the mess they are leaving us with wrecked industries and environmental disasters we aren't going to have any time or money to feed them let alone do anything else for them. If they don't back off shortly then they are going to be left in the cold, in the dark and hungry.
