Yeah, the BEI was "supposedly" nationalised in 1858 and "officially" dissolved in 1874, but I think its fair to say it never really went away and more like it was morphed into other things - like the London Laundromat (banking establishment). Its amazing how few people realise the BEI existed let alone how big it was. It came up in a discussion a while back and someone said just go read the intro on the Wikipedia page. Its makes Bezos, Musk, Gates and Suckerberg combined look like a pack of clowns. It makes the Russian Oligarchs look like a pack of drunken footballers. My favourite part of the BEI is that it didn't have a security division it had its own army.

  2. Did you see 4Corners on JBS? Essentially both sides (Libs, Nats & Labour) have all condoned MONEY LAUNDERING. All of JBS's money for its foreign investments were ILLEGALLY obtained through bribery and corruption via the Brazilian government. As the FBI girl says all that money is the proceeds of a crime and anyone who touches that money is part of committing an ongoing crime. And they are all involved.
