  1. FROM AUSTALIA I think its absurd to say or imply Trump Killed Democracy, just because America has made such a mess of its own democracy. There's a great line about how Democracy sucks until you realise all the other systems humans have tried are WORSE. FYI - I went to college in America in the late 80s and EVN BACK THEN there were signs American Democracy was in trouble. I was there during the entire Iran-Contra Scandal and even then many people around the World knew about the CIA backed coups that overthrew DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED GOVERNMENTS in places like Guatemala, Indonesia, Chile and (most topical at the moment) Iran in 1953. If Trump has done anything its that he's shattered the illusion (or delusion if you like) that our democracies are functioning the way we think they do. All over the World (including Australia) we howl about the unelected bureaucrats that make decisions AND THEN we go an elect a different party into power who then appoint waves of unelected bureaucrats that make decisions. NOTE: Elon Musk and the DOGE boys were unelected bureaucrats who sacked 1,000s of people and have done massive damage to the functions of government services. At least Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard and others were publicly vetted by duly elected representatives. At least for those people there was a process and also a system (all be it flawed) for sacking them.
