I saw a TEDx Talk a few years ago titled The Four Most Dangerous Words? A New Study Shows | Laura Arnold | Its still here on YouTube (I just checked). It was about people writing stuff and publishing it as FACT when most of the times its nothing but PR designed to raise capital from investors. The point made was that for every study saying a new thing there's other studies showing its NOT TRUE. I think there's the same thing in politics and MAYBE the 4 most dangerous words in politics are "A New Report Says" or maybe "A New Poll Shows..." because we hear it so often that its meaningless and the tragedy is that we are likely to DISMISS that one report or poll that we really should NOT.

Australian here and since you're from California I have a question. What would you say to a Newsom-Harris ticket where Kamal stays as VP? Because as an outsider looking in I can't see Kamala winning. She's terrible on the Campaign trail as was shown 4 years ago when she could not even win California (her home state). HOWEVER her coming on as Newsom's VP it gets past the funding issues that I keep hearing about and Newsom is a lot better of a campaigner. Is age also would get past many of the issues the Democrats now have. FYI - I went to college in America on a sports scholarship (U. Illinois) and spent 2 of my 3 summers in California. I did engineering but a bunch of my friends were pre-law and they used to drag me into their discussions. So I got an unusual education into how the American system is supposed to work but that's a longer discussion. But for this question just assume I have a reasonable understanding of American politics and how it works and I am genuinely interested in what you think of the possibility of Newsom-Harris ticket.

@LisaForTruth I know that - when Newsom was suggested as a VP to Kamala that came up and it was pointed out either of them could simply change their residence. I just can't see Kamala winning as the top of the ticket. She must be intelligent or she'd never have got into Law School let alone passed and then passed the bar exam, but that's not a requirement for POTUS. The only true requirement in any democracy is being able to convince people you're worth voting for. Skills, training, experience,.....etc are all nice but mean nothing if you can't convince people that you're the person and Kamala failed that test badly in 2020. Maybe she's learned. I don't know on that. The thing that scares me most about Kamala is her ability to stand on the World stage because (as I have said to others) we don't need America to fix the problems the World faces on the global scale but WITHOUT America its so much harder. The next US President doesn't just have to get into the Whitehouse but they have to make a POSITIVE IMPACT on the world. On that Biden is a failure and Trump is a disaster. *So the next POTUS has to be markedly BETTER and these clowns waiting for 2028 are NEVER going to be an answer because if they can't step up now then they are never going to step up in the way that's needed.

@pinetree909 AND THE REST OF US can't believe that people LIKE YOU refuse to see that Biden is NO LONGER ABLE TO DO THE TASK. And I really do wish I could scream that at you and the others like you. YES - Joe did a great thing and got Trump out of the Whitehouse but ITS TIME for him to go. Tom Brady had to face it was time to stop playing football Mario Andretti had to face that he couldn't keep driving race cars. 1,000s and 1,000s of people have to face the fact that their time is up every day. Somebody somewhere right now is probably telling their aged parent that they can't drive a car anymore or do something else.

@MaggieMiller1 AND THAT'S exactly why the Dems keep losing. So long as you keep thinking that you RISK something rather than OFFERING A SOLUTION you fail and fail and fail and keep on failing. This is where the Biden supporters right now are headed for ANOTHER disaster. Look at SCOTUS. The Dems have held the Whitehouse for 20 of the last 32 years while the GOP has only had it for 12 (basically 1/2 as much time) and yet who now controls SCOTUS and with it the courts??????? The Dems MUST get out of this idiotic mindset of trying to please everyone with every decision. Its a trait Leftists and Left leaning centrist parties all across the world have. Its why they keep losing EVERYWHERE. 1) They wont make decisions that might upset someone so they don't make any decisions at all; OR 2) They make decisions that are so weak and so ineffective they fail; OR 3) They go over the top and make the grandest of all failures. See Mao's Great Leap Forward or what the Soviets did to the Aral Sea for examples. I will grant anyone on the Left any day of the week and twice on any Sunday that THEY HAVE BETTER IDEAS. But their ability to get things done is hopeless. Its why they lose.
