  1. Garland isn't so much a wimp but a federalist society member and an institutionalist. As an Institutionalist his views are reasonably well known that he believes the OFFICE of the presidency to be sacrosanct and it much not be besmirched in any way including dragging any president or ex-president through any court case. This is the same stupidity that lead Gerald Ford to write a blanket pardon to Richard Nixon despite the fact Nixon was never charged with anything. The stupidity of that ideology is that it ignores the fact that the President can commit actual crimes that must be dealt with or the very institution they are trying to protect becomes corrupted to the point of being irrelevant.
