NBN started at $20B then went to $30B and has so far cost $51B but is sitting on a $1B contingency. Then there's the issue that chunks of it are now heading toward obsolescence and will need replacing. Then there's the 5G networks and who is going to END UP PAYING for that. The guy in Charge of Telstra's 5G roll out claimed it was "game changer" the catch cry of the technology scammer. He claimed people would be able to download a 2 hr high def movie in 10 seconds to their phone. Funny how nobody actually asked him "Who actually needs that?" Just like somebody should have asked Elon about Starlink "Who actually needs it?" Just like somebody should have asked Suckerberg about Meta "Who actually needs it?" I am an engineer and there's a lot of technology sold for no other reason than to wow people who are too stupid to realise they are being techno scammed.

@camhunt7310 Fair arguments but the biggest by far is serviceability. If a cable gets broken or cut then it can be replaced. It might not be easy but it can be fixed. I am an aerospace engineer and once a satellite is launched that's it. It flies and works or it fails. Other than the space stations the only object ever put in space that was serviced or repaired was Hubble.
