No the real joke is that the Chinese have actually built a replica or updated version of the MIR Space Station. The 5 port ball shaped docking port on one end with the robotic arm for moving modules around and the 6th axial port at the other end is the same configuration as the MIR core module. In some ways it makes a bucket of common sense. Why reinvent when you can do what the Chinese are best at COPY what others have done. Plus MIR proved it was fundamentally a good design that did what it was meant to do. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

But on being a technological breakthrough - NO, not even close.

@sammendy138 Go ask the Africans on that one. One of the great claims the CCP makes time and again is that they don't interfere like the Russians and Americans. That's only true in the methods they employ. As far as interfering goes they are just as bad as any empire has been.

@hanqingli6532 Mid 50s with a degree in aerospace engineering and 30+ years in control systems. So yeah I was there when America lost Skylab and the Russians deployed MIR. You do know that trying to be more ignorant than the Americans isn't very smart?

What an idiotic and ignorant comment. Anybody who knows anything about the space stations that have been built so far can see this is a version of the Russian MIR station. 🤷♂️🤷♀️ That shouldn't surprise anyone because the entire Chinese manned space program has been based on Russian technology. Their first missions were all done using Soyuz based technologies.

@rbkkpooi3244 Not certain where your from but clearly English isn't your primary language. The Chinese have copied or stolen every bit of technology they can for the past 50 years. In a way its understandable, they were behind and wanted to catch up. As for Belt and Road that's just a copy of the Mongol Empire except using money instead of an army. Go study some history.

@xin8017 What exactly is anyone sour about? People like you are so sensitive to anything less than devout praise. Its actually pathetic. Maybe not in this post but I have been way more critical of the Americans and how their programs have misfired. If you want to see some harsh criticism of the American programs go watch some of the Angry Astronaut. I don't agree with all that he says but its hard to ignore many of his points. Just like it is impossible to ignore that China's manned space program has been all based on Russian technology. There is nothing wrong with that as even the Americans have been using Russian rocket engines for many years now. So grow up and be less sensitive to critique.

@Landoparada360 Seriously - STOP taking the drugs you are on and START taking the ones the doctor prescribed. If you are so anti-technology then GET OFF the internet, stop using electricity, stop using anything that is manufactured because all those things are made by engineers and engineers all believe the earth is a globe. Actually its an oblate spheroid but I don't want to hurt your brain cell with technological terminology.
