  1. Australian here: Kyle is explaining exactly the same sorts of problems we have with our centrists. They stand for nothing except compromise and because BOTH the Far Left and Far Right KNOW with certainty that they can bluff the centrists then the centrists end up getting nothing done. Because our politics is dominated by a Centrist Left (Labor) and a Centrist Right (Liberal) parties the more conservative Nationals on the right and more radical Leftists can just play their interference games and NOTHING CHANGES. Even when the centrists do have good ideas (which they do have) they find ways to completely botch it up and if you want I can give examples. The only correction I'd give to your statement is that rather than SIDE with the Right I'd say they CAVE IN to the right because the Right now how to bluff better than the Left. I think it would be safe to say that at any political poker tournament the Right win all the time and its not because they cheat they just know how to bluff better.
