There's extremists both Left and Right and in every religious flavor you can name. Every tribe, state and nation has them. The difference is in most cases the bulk of the population doesn't listen to them and generally isolates them. Now that we have the internet and social media they can share their garbage and vilify others to wider audiences. Politics, the military and police services are places they love to move into because it gives them a power base to operate from. Its one of the reasons why (despite all its flaws) democracy is the best system we have because every few years we have the chance to clean them out of government and then clean them out of the services..
