As an engineer I keep trying to explain to people that there is NO SUCH THING as Artificial Intelligence. We have algorithms that can MIMIC certain human tasks - that's all. So long as the task is reasonably well defined one of these algorithms can be trained to do that task with tremendous efficiency. Even though something like facial recognition of finger print comparisons (which are both forms of image analysis) are abstract in nature they can be reasonably well defined. If you just ask Is this face in this picture that person its a fairly abstract question. But if you are comparing a variety of measurable features like the size of the nose or width of the mouth or separation of the eyes then it switches to a definable problem. When people are asking CHAT-GPT to do their term paper its an abstract task until you give it a subject and number of words. Once that's done its a defined task. Conversations are totally abstract until you decide a subject to discuss. That's why this conversation looks so stupid and ridiculous.
