  1. A few months ago British Economist Gary Stevenson gave this brilliant insight to all the economists who talk up the economy. To all of their claims he said you need to aid 2 words - "for us" as in "the economy is looking good FOR US" or "the markets are in a slide FOR US." He used it as a way of explaining their disconnect from ordinary people. The same can be applied to the current wave of Right Wing populists across the Western World. They are all claiming that "Elections don't work" when what they really mean is "Elections don't work FOR US!" Considering how much the American Right has Gerrymandered many US States despite SCOTUS decisions and how much they have rigged elections they are now complaining that their shitfuckery is non longer working. So when they say "Elections don't work!" What they really mean is "Elections don't work FOR US!"
