  1. Australian with an observation and its the same as I just put in another thread but its even MOR pertinent here considering the very first reply in this thread. FYI - I went to college in America and from personnel experience I saw the GENERAL population of America show great RESPECT to those who'd served. There's that moment in "A Few Good Men" when Sam asks Joe (Demi Moore) why she liked the 2 marines they were defending. Her reply is one of the most pertinent reasons WHY people (unless proven otherwise) should respect those who serve in the military. Demi Moore's character was asked "Why do you like them so much?" Her Reply was "Because they stand on a wall and they say nothing's going to hurt you tonight. Not on my watch." When did we collectively find it convenient to allow ANYONE in politics (and it happens in Australia too) to denigrate people who had served with dignity and keep the rest of us safe?

And the stupidest thing for America is NOBOBY is trying to make America into East Germany or Soviet Russia or China. Yeah there's a few Lefty nut cases out there who think they can make some weird Utopia exist. BUT like the Ayn Rand Libertarians and the Crypto junkies just give them 5 minutes and they'll prove how blindly ignorant of reality they are. America needs to be way more scared of the Far Right religious fundamentalists who think the Handmaids Tale is a blueprint for their Utopia.
