You're absolutely right and I agree with all the comments that YT lets me see. I'm Australian but went to college in America (late 80s). It greatly saddens me to see where America is right now, but when I look around the rest of the world is doing the same sorts of things. We have tighter rules but still have too much money in our politics and its getting worse. I was in Canada for work a couple of years ago and the political stuff going on there was so like Australia that if it hadn't been for the snow and accents I would not have known I was in Canada. I just watched a DW (German) report on industrial avocado farming in Portugal and they have the same problem as we have with industrial nut farming and California has with industrial farming. The big money outfits pay-off the local authorities with CAMPAIGN MONEY to get access to water AND Its the same story and same sets of excuses: "We are investing jobs." or "We are investing communities." AND there's a common result. All the local existing famers get starved out of water with the infrastructure gets privatised. Its short term gain irrespective of long term pain.

@thesun6211 Buddy every time they try those sorts of Laws ANYWHERE they mysteriously get shelved. Here in Australia we have been trying to get those laws for decades and every time someone finds out big money might be getting favors the other side of politics proposes them and we all go "Yeah we should have those sorts of laws." And that's the last we hear about it until the next time. In recent years BOTH sides of Australian politics have been getting buckets of money from Chinese businessmen. We don't have the foreign money laws America does. It turns out we have had the same from the British, Americans and Japanese as well FOR DECADES. Every time its gets talked about we all agree that we should have laws against foreign funding of Australian politics. And that's the last we hear about it until the next time. I bet you'll find every other democracy on the planet has similar campaign funding issues and everyone agrees to fix it and nobody fixes it for the same reasons. The political establishments need that money to pound us with their crap.

@HandleNameIsStupid Your right, to a point, things are not equal. There's a line people throw back at social justice warriors who preach absolute equality of outcome. "Equality of outcome is slavery, while equality of opportunity is freedom." The problem the world now faces is the top 1% who are stripping away opportunity for the bulk of the population. If you don't meet their needs to provide their next bonus you don't even get to the start line. On the flip side to that are the radical Left who are so enamoured with equal outcomes they are also denying people the opportunity to exercise their capabilities. Not everyone can run that fast or jump that high or be a brain surgeon or be an astronaut, but these people deny the right to be smarter or more athletic and end up doing the most stupid things. Trapped in between these 2 ideologies are the other 90% of us who are having opportunity choked out of our lives.
