I'm Australian and this result is a huge relief to us and others. I know a lot of people think its not our business but America's economy is so huge and has such an effect that when the NYSE blinks our stock markets have heart palpitations. America's security is so encompassing that when the Secretary of Defense speaks we HAVE to listen. But if any of our stock exchanges have major event it barely causes a ripple in New York. If we make any major defense announcements, unless its one of those incredibly rare events like last years submarine deal its not even noticed and my bet is NONE of you know what I am talking about with submarines. So America having common sense prevail and clowns like Kari Lake being told to take a hike is a huge relief to the rest of the world. No hopefully the rest of the GOP will WTFU and get back to some sort of rational behavior. They can start with throwing Trump and others under the bus.

@IlluzionMe They don't just watch her, 1,264,842 people voted for her. America might have dodged a bullet but I doubt this is over.

@jasonwalker3599 I get your point and infrastructure is damn important. There's a 60 minutes episode here on YT from 2014 that highlights a the bridge problem quite well. I bet America would easily be able to afford the infrastructure (like bridges) and fight the war if TRUMP HADN'T GIVEN THE TOP 1% a $3,000,000,000 TAX BREAK. That's 3 TRILLION in case your having trouble counting that many zeros. If you want to point these costs out then fine I will agree with you that its stupid. BUT DO NOT BLAME 1 PERSON when its the fault of so many.

@thomasjohn6041 Actually I agree and it does not relieve me at all. So what's your point? I have said for well over a year that Joe Biden and the corporate Democrats where never going to be the solution America needs. And by extension its the same problem facing every other developed nation. We all suffer from these corrupted political establishments that are owned by various factions within the billionaire class. I describe American politics as Carbon versus Silicon not Right versus Left. Look at the billionaire supporters and where their main assets are. Its not 100% true in all cases as there's lots of crossover. The billionaires who back the GOP are mainly into the exploitation of carbon assets and processed carbon while the bulk of the billionaires who bac the Dems are from the tech industries which are based on silicon. Either way the bulk of the American people are trapped between billionaires like mice trapped in a room with 2 bull elephants fighting for supremacy.

Yeah - funny about that.

@jasonwalker3599 On Ukraine: Go look at Ward Carroll's channel here on YT he just interviewed a British Analyst Justin Bronk. You can watch the whole thing or just the short excerpt that goes for less than 3 minutes. Its fairly cold but accurate arithmetic, but also very hard to argue against.

@jasonwalker3599 On the Fentanyl crisis. I was in Canada late 2017 when it was out of control and killing dozens every day. So I got to see the crisis far different than had I been back in Australia. We do have it here but, nothing like it was in Canada in 2017. I got to see daily news stores on it for a couple of months and the problem is the potency of the raw stuff. Most if was coming in through Vancouver on vessels out of China and was 100% raw. Just getting it on you skin could kill you in minutes. It really was that bad. So its needs to be cut with something and that means mixing white powder with white powder so its incredibly hard to see if its being mixed evenly. The Canadians were faced with packets on the street that might be of any strength from the same batch. They could be harmless with nothing in them or so toxic they kill in minutes. I have no idea why the rest of the world didn't come down hard on China over Fentanyl and I doubt none of us ever will. Its like why hasn't anyone of the Sackler family been charged with anything over the oxycodone epidemic? They knew exactly what they were selling and so far that entire family has gotten away with it. Trump getting away with Jan 6th is nothing. Only 5 died. The Sackler's killed 1000s and 1000s of Americans. Way more than Osama BL did and yet nobody sent a Seal team will kill on site orders after any of them. Explain that if you like.

@patriciawilkes5079 Sorry this is longish. Its a great point you raise but its also not a simple answer. In respect of Fentanyl absolutely we should have come down hard on China. Its a straight forward thing for them to fix and it doesn't cost them squat politically. However in terms of war crimes, imperialism and other crap you can't compare those to illicit drugs, because they are just so different politically. That's not to say its not worth discussing but its a very different discussion AND I will agree with you its a discussion that needs to be had. 1) There are so many countries either tacitly or actively involved with America in those issues that its way more complex than something like Fentanyl. 2) Both China and Russia do the same or worse and have been doing the same or worse for decades. Other than what Russia is doing right now in Ukraine the Chinese just claimed a vast slab of the biggest shipping channel in the world. Go look where the Spratly Islands actually are. They're not even close to the Chinese mainland compared to Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam. Then there is Uyghur genocide that's going on and that's been quietly put aside for the moment. So I would agree that to come down on China over Fentanyl and then NOT address the issues of American, Russian and Chinese imperialism is WRONG. But one of those problems can be dealt with quickly while the other is incredibly complex. Don't forget that neither America nor Russia nor China nor a bunch of others are current signatories to the ICC. So how do you arrest and try anyone form those countries? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Criminal_Court I actually hate when Americans start howling about holding people from other countries accountable for War Crimes. America withdrew its support for the court system it helped set up after WW2 and it used to try, convict and execute Nazis. Its a subject that can't even be officially discussed or the GOP start screaming and 100 million Americans start waving guns and flags and threatening to nuke everything in sight. The Russian's and Chinese do similar. If you can tell me how we drag George Bush and others off to the Hague over Iraq then fine, but don't say something stupid like "Just arrest them!" John Bolton one of the worst criminals of that whole disaster currently travels the world on a diplomatic passport. He was here in Australia recently and I couldn't believe nobody challenged him. But then he has blanket immunity and travels with a team trigger happy US Secret Service agents. So its not easy.

@kelliott7864 Before you say that again I suggest you go check a few things. Pay particular notice to the map shown a just before 8 minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FUVwC-B1k4 Yes smart ass, if the Chinese or Russians ever decide to do anything they will nuke us first. We might not be much, but at least show us some respect, because your soft hide is safe in bed each night because we pay the price for helping keep it safe.

@kelliott7864 Please stop, you don't need to prove most American's are ignorant, we already know how bad you are. Jimmy Kimmel does plenty like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umpalMtQE50 But this one never seems to age. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww Is it any wonder when Ukraine fired a US made missile the other day it hit Poland???

@thomasjohn6041 As for your little tirade about dumb Australians, yes we have many just as any society has. The difference is we don't parade them to the rest of the world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww FYI - I got my degree in America and I hate it when dumb Americans do stupid shit because it devalues my education which was damn fantastic.
