Its not just American hyper-patriotism is hyper-patriotism anywhere. Remember what the Germans in the 1940s did when they let hyper-patriotism run rampant? Remember what the Japanese in the 1940s did when they let hyper-patriotism run rampant? Remember what the Serbs in the 1990s did when they let hyper-patriotism run rampant? Remember what the French did during their Revolution when they let hyper-patriotism run rampant and when that wasn't enough they let another clown named Napoleon take it even further? And dozens of other countries all through history. I'm Australian and we have people like this, we just don't have millions of them BUT WE HAVE THEM because every one has them. We even have our own version of Trump. Go look up Clive Palmer.

@bobbafett1849 Go check what the French had before the Revolution. They were the world leaders in science and technology. Louis XIV had founded the Académie des sciences in 1666 and that helped catapulted France forward. The industrial revolution should have happened in France not Britain. Within 2 generations of the Sun King (Louis XIV) they burnt their country to the ground. It wasn't just the Monarchy it was their entire Aristocracy going stupid. They had education and technology and development and then rampant stupidity. That's the parallel to America. Its not just America's political class its the billionaire class going stupid.
