  1. Australian here - this is one of the problems with progressives WORLD WIDE. In what is basically a war of ideas progressives KEEP LOSING with BETTER IDEAS. Here's WHY by illustration. I'm an aerospace engineer who works in industrial automation. A number of years ago while working with a German Robotics engineer I asked about something and he replied "Its in the manual." When he noticed that I was laughing he then said "Yes, I know our manuals are crap." So despite having one of the best industrial robots ever the manuals for helping people to use them were garbage AND THEY KNEW IT. This is exactly the same problem with progressives. They have better ideas but their messaging is so damn awful that nobody bothers with them. I just watched a video titled "The Two Economic Ideologies Dividing USA explained by Heather Cox Richardson" and she explained how the US Economy RIGHT NOW is the best its been for decades and better than most of the world AND YET TRUMP JUST WON THE ECONOMIC ARGUMENT. if you take the "ive" of the end of Progressive your left with progress. Try as a starting point progressives are about everyone making progress. Whether the discussion is crime, education, environment, economy,..... make the discussion about PROGRESS. Throw down on the conservatives "How are you ACTUALLY going to make this persons life better?"
