Actually American congressmen and women ARE REPRESENTING those they are meant to represent. The represent those who can afford to support them. You know the same people who convinced SCOTUS that their corporations are also people and that they should be allowed unlimited political funding.

@SkyDarmos I think you need to go back to school and learn the basic difference between a representative democracy and a hereditary monarchy, because your comment is absurd. If you want to point out the current flaws in representative democracies where representatives are chosen by parties in ways that have similarities to hereditary feudalism that's another discussion, but to claim representation is an absurd idea is simply idiotic.

@SkyDarmos You do know that in most authoritarian states they put their most well educated people in re-education camps because to exist they can't have people who can think and reason. The one thing authoritarian states need more than anything else is an uneducated ignorant population that just believes what they are told. So thanks for the compliment. And don't blame me or anyone else you grew up in a place with a failed education system.

Hey when you Swiss stop being the worlds money and stolen art laundering house you start handing out advice. In the meantime go clean up country. I'd call you a nation of thieves, but I'll be democratic and fair - you're not a nation of thieves your their laundering house.

@konmoe121 Australia and my sister in law and her mother both carry Swiss passports. My problem isn't with YOU or any other person in Switzerland. Its the way your country operates with respect to money, money laundering, tax evasion, corporate regulation and protection of thieves. We know about the hyper security storage facilities where the hyper wealthy hide all the things they have stolen over the decades. We know about places like Zug that have some of the laxest corporate laws in the world allowing for multinational companies to hide from accountability. Nobody should have to remind anyone on Switzerland what your country does. So you know - Switzerland isn't the only country doing these things. Britain has its overseas territories. There's Ireland and Holland with there low corporate taxes. There's Luxembourg, Monaco, San Marino and other small states that exist for nothing else that wealthy sports people to hide taxes. Even Australia has a couple of island states its quietly encouraged to have lax banking systems. BUT Switzerland is the worst overall by virtue of those storage facilities.

@konmoe121 I wouldn't claim I am well informed but I know more than average. As I hinted at I do know there are Swiss people trying to clean up their banks, corporate laws and other things. I'd just warn that be careful that you don't come across as if you are ignoring those issues, because some of those issues can literally ignite a storm. As for Australia, we are one of the most well aware nations of our history. I was in Canada for work a couple of years ago and they too are trying to deal with their past which echoes ours. New Zealand is another country dealing with its past which is similar. The way I put it is and I include Canada and New Zealand in this. We are far from perfect and we have a long way to go, but at least we have recognized our past and are making progress towards a resolution. As for our support of America and Britain that's something a lot more complex. We are aware there's many issues there and we have gotten involved in things we should have said no too. There's a lot of Australians nervous over even tighter links to America and Britain considering the unpredictable futures of both. I actually went to college in America and can barely believe where America is at this time. I can see a real chance that America will split into several smaller federations over the next 10-20 years. I hope it doesn't happen as it will be a disaster for Western Society. Its one reason why i want to see all the secret banking systems cleaned up, because its those people who can afford those systems that are causing most of our troubles.
