  1. American Libertarians summed up in 1 very simple statement "We demand the liberty to strip other people of their liberty!" I forget who said it but the ultimate flaw of democracy is that 50.1% of the population can decide to exterminate the other 49.9% of the population. Like Sport, Democracy can only function when both sides agree to a basic set of rules. Right now America has 2 sides that don't believe the other side should exist. The fault lies with a lot of people including the leadership (or lack of it) from both sides of politics as well as a media obsessed with how many buzz words they can use in the next 5 minutes and a public too willing to believe what they want to hear as they dismiss what they need to hear.
