I got caught out of state and its cost me close to a year of my life being in limbo, but I also have been watching the numbers and we could have had it so much worse. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ I actually went to college in America on a sports scholarship - U. of Illinois. On October 28 Australia had 2 deaths and on November 30 1 death. In the same time Illinois with less than half the population (12.6 million to 25.6) had over 3000 deaths with its BEST day at only 25. On December 2 it was 266 dead. I had 4 thanksgiving holidays there and its about to escalate and then get even worse after Christmas as winter hits. I just hope that the next time I visit the states its to see friends not visit graves.

I find it incredibly sad to see that over 13,300 people have died there out of a population half the size of Australia (12.6 million to 25.6 million) where we have 908. We had 2 deaths on October 28 and 1 on November 30 and none in between. During the same time period over 3000 people died in Illinois, with the BEST day when only 25 died. On other days it was over 100, with 266 on December 2. Having been there for 4 Thanksgiving holidays I can see it is about to get very very bad and then even worse after Christmas when winter is in full swing. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ This isn't just sad or tragic its something else.   3. As fellow Victorian who also went to college in America its incredibly sad to see what Trump has done to America. Its damaged the lives of many people I care about and many ,many others beyond that. One thing Americans should know is that when (and there were mistakes made) the virus got out of control Daniel Andrews the Premier of Victoria (equivalent to a US Governor in terms of role) was totally panned by right wing media particularly Murdoch's Sky News. .Everything they could throw at him they did, but they are pretty quiet now except making claims Trump will still win.   4.  @Lankpants  Your absolutely right but the problem is Murdoch and his people are NOT stopping and there base is getting more and more radicalized every day. Alan Jones now has a base of American supporters - just look at the comments he gets. Sadly they have a base and its not shifting. IN part that base exists because the rest of us left them behind and disenfranchised with globalization and other things. Murdoch and his minions have taken advantage of that disenfranchisement and weaponized it. Scarier - I hear Murdoch junior like Trump Junior looks like taking over and being even WORSE.
