  1. AEROSPACE ENGINEER HERE who also has a pilots license I am tired of people like Kyle oversimplifying this and making stupid claims. 1) The Boeing Max-8 DID WORK. It made 1,000s and 1,000s of successful flights, was fuel efficient and made money for its owners; BUT 2) It had a hidden flaw that is one of the WORST cases of bad engineering in history. There's also nothing abnormal about high performance planes having nasty stalling characteristics and that's especially true of passenger jets. Test Pilots have crashed and been killed doing basic stall tests after maintenance when they have gone to check things before putting the plane back into service. These planes are NOT designed to be stalled the priority is on making them fly as fuel efficiently as possible from one place to the next. The problem with the MAX-8 was NOT that it was more prone to stalling than previous 737 variants but that the pilots were never told that it was and with that they were also not told about the MCAS system. Why Kyle and many others keep saying stupid things is beyond me. Why they can't ask a pilot or an engineer to explain it is beyond me.
