Good I'm not the only Aussie watching Kyle. Good points all round, I just watched Saggar Enjeti over on Breaking points make a mess of this. Kyle even makes a pretty bad mistake at 6:15 when he says Sky News doesn't have the connections. They are part of the Murdoch Empire and they certainly have the connections. What he and Sagaar both screwed up is that Alan Jones was forced by Sky Management to correct himself on air. That's the first time I have ever seen Alan jones apologize for anything. For the Americans Alan Jones is our equivalent of Sean Hannity and he NEVER APOLOGIZES. The other thing they both missed was that one of the others banned by both Twitter and YouTube is a sitting member of our Parliament Craig Kelly. He's the equivalent of a Congressman in the House. He's a far far far right winger who has been in trouble several times over recent years for climate change denial and other conspiracies. He'd be right at home as Australia's US Ambassador if Trump wins in 2024. For anyone else watching we have a program called Media Watch. Its on Australian ABC our equivalent of PBS so don't be confused by the ABC it has nothing to do with the American ABC. Here's their report on this starting at 3:21 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnPgDf8RFR0 This is the original story presented 2 weeks ago starting at 3:29 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Df1Fnw2M6f4

@110000116699 You don't need to tell an Australian that. We tried warning the Brits when he moved there - they didn't listen. We tried warning the Yanks when he moved there - they didn't listen either. Do you know that Australia has the most poisonous animals on the planet - Inland Taipan, Sydney Funnel Web, Blue Ringed Octopus, Stone Fish, Box Jelly Fish,....... None of them will bite Rupert, they are scared of dying. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

As an Australian who's just watched Sagaar Enjeti completely botch this story and Kyle make a bad mistake (at one point) THANK YOU for getting the distinction right Kyle makes a pretty bad mistake at 6:15 when he says Sky News doesn't have the connections. They are part of the Murdoch Empire and they certainly have the connections. For anyone interested I go over all the things Sagaar got wrong on that page in the top (pinned) comment. As an Australian let me answer -> Like the complete fat orange turd that he is. That trade war he started with China. The Chinese have turned that on us at significant cost. Trump stalling any efforts on climate change gave our right wing all the fuel they needed to fark our situation and our situation isn't good. I was (by chance) working in Canada when Trump tore up NAFTA and imposed tariffs. I can tell you they went from being very very polite into psycho hockey rage mode faster than anything I've ever seen. I know there's plenty of Americans who think Australia should shut its mouth and be like a South Pacific Puerto Rico. We cop enough shite from other countries as America's 51st state because we always vote with America at the UN and that when America invades somewhere we go along like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan. But we have also tied our entire future security to America with programs like the F35. My favorite question to other Australians on the American subject is: Is it in our best interests that America is a healthy functioning nation. Even those Australians who really don't like America answer YES to that. But we all agree America isn't healthy or functioning as it should. We think of America more like a good old American Muscle car - A big V8 with crap suspension and lousy brakes that's great in a straight line until it hits a bump or bend in the road. Right now we see that V8 as only firing on 5 cylinders, the brakes are shot, the shocks are shot and its approaching a bumpy swerving road at 125mph. Oh and the driver is half asleep and tanked on Jack Daniels! FYI - I'm one of the Aussies who does like America. I went to college there on a sports scholarship. So I have a lot of friends there. I have a lot of great memories form my time there. It shites me what Trump has done and is still doing to a great nation. I'm very concerned that Biden isn't capable of solving the issues that need to be solved and that will hand America back to Trump in 2024.

@entertain7us148 Kyle has this real bug up his keester about free speech. He's says it repeatedly that so long as someone isn't encouraging violence against others they should be free to say whatever they like. I strongly disagree with that, because it doesn't include those who promote or preach HARMFUL speech. I'm Australian but went to college in America and met people like this. Its an ideological stand on his part not one based on critical thinking or considering the circumstances of a specific case. In Oz right now we are battling to contain the Delta strain and these idiots at Sky hurt that cause and we just don't have time for their garbage right now.

@Mandykiss4500 Its not quite 90% although it certainly feels like it. Its the whole reason we have media ownership laws that restrict ho much any one person or business entity can own of newspapers, radio and television. Both Kerry Packer and Rupert Murdoch wanted those laws and restrictions removed and have lobbied on it for decades. Or at least Kerry did until he died, when James took up that mantle.

@entertain7us148 I don't know if its childish, but its incredibly simplistic and totally ignorant of nuance and circumstance. People like Jim Jones didn't outright threaten people until his last days. But what he was practicing was incredibly dangerous. Some of the anti-vaxxers at the moment aren't preaching violence but they are preaching dangerous garbage. Kyle doesn't seem to get that and I don't know why. He's not a dumb person but in this he's missing the point Its clear to me he has never done a serious team sport or even semi-serious let alone any crisis (or emergency) management or even project management where the concept of free speech doesn't really exist. In crisis management rule #1 is: This is not a democracy or discussion panel. There is 1 voice and you WILL DO what you are told.

@jakeg3296 I'm well aware of the campaigns by both Kevin Rudd and Malcolm Turnbull to reign in the Murdoch/Newscorp Empire. Murdoch is not a "news man" and he hasn't been for many many years. He's part UNELECTED politician, part lobbyist but mostly a propagandist. Ideologically he's an extreme libertarian who was a huge fan of Ronald Reagan's "government is the problem" ideology. He's right in the classification that you find people like Charles Koch and other similar monsters. How Kyle has completely missed the links between Sky News Australia and Rupert Murdoch is beyond me. I thought he researched his material better. Maybe he saw this as a free speech issue. ITS NOT, its a public safety issue. We've survived the the worst of COVID by isolation, but we have also struggled with vaccination rates partly through shortage of Pfizer but also a huge amount of misinformation. We had people claiming all sorts of crap for months about experimental gene therapy and other nonsense. Right now we are struggling to contain the Delta strain. We dropped our guard its here and its spreading. SO ANY CLOWN mouthing off publicly with vaccine misinformation IS A THREAT TO PUBLIC SAFETY.

@jimmyjames5685 Simple dude Murdoch doesn't own or control YouTube or Twitter. But don't hold your breath on either. Many many people have crossed Rupert and very few have survived politically or in business.

@jimmyjames5685 Mark Latham - there's a voice from the past. At one point he was half way into the lodge and then ran foul of Mr. Murdoch. He made a few of his own mistakes for sure, but Rupert's people are just ruthless at taking advantage. They are like hyena's on a lame wilder beast. Just ask Rudd & Turnbull. Sooner or later we will have to deal with those hyenas and I suspect it'll be ugly.
