  1. I'm an engineer and some of the crap and garbage I hear coming via the media and advertising is so damn ugly. Its actually infuriating. I did my degree in aerospace but work in control systems and automation. Most of the claims I hear about AI in industry and how automation will change everything is just utter garbage. In so many ways engineers are to blame because we have allowed so many people to exaggerate for so long OR engineers have actively exaggerated certain technologies in an effort to gain attention or funding or both. Just last week I watched the head of Australia's CSIRO make an ass of himself on national TV over a question on AI and the journalist hosting the discussion panel make idi0tic claims about automation and driverless cars. Its maybe the worst aspect of allowing everyone to use technologies like computers and smartphones and GPS systems. They all think they are technically literate. Its almost a form of mass Dunning-Kruger syndrome.

  2.  @DrWhom  Thanks for every occasion an engineer clarifies something another charlatan makes another claim and 2 more media people pop up praising their genius. Its like playing infinite exponential whack-a-mole. In college one of my options was in Greek Mythology. Both Hercules and/or Jason of Argonauts fame fought it but the problem was for every head you cut off 2 more grew out of the neck. That's what dealing with these people is like.
