As an aerospace engineer compared to the crap level being produced these days about space flight its so much better that its like comparing Will Smith in Shark Tale to a Jacques Cousteau. Some of the garbage being sold to the public these days is so pathetically far from reality that its possible to claim fraud on several organisations. Just ask any engineer how many times they have had to correct family and friends on reality, because somebody saw something on YouTube, TV or a movie?

@Skank_and_Gutterboy I 'd contend that when Michael Moore isn't being a self righteous pr*ck he's not to bad. His real failing is that when he does point out things that need to be discussed he's often so obnoxious that nobody want's to then discuss those things. I think the "History Channel" is one of the worst for complete crap. What ever it might have been once its pathetically bad these days. The ones I hate the most are the clowns who claim that this military system or technology "shocked" the world. Most of them are produced by utter clowns who have no idea. I saw one today by a guy who claimed to be a fighter pilot and he was reviewing the Top Gun trailer. He made this idiotic comment about Iran having F14s. He could have looked up Wikipedia and found out Iran had F14s. That fact check that takes all of 30 seconds. He also describe a barrel roll to change position in formation that I suspect is wrong. It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't a pilot at all let alone a military pilot. Following them are the Elon Muskrats who haven't the faintest clue that he's selling a fantasy after fantasy. Some of the Elon's fanbot channels are so bad its ridiculous. Thunderf00t has covered some of them.

@ThahnG413 It depends on how much they have to stretch everything and why they are doing it. I remember hearing Mel Gibson say how they had to totally change the execution scene in Braveheart because of what was actually done to William Wallace. It would have been banned in every nation on the planet. So they had to do that one. The French Princess was never in England at that stage as she was only a couple of years old at that time. She was there because it made for a good story. What they had to do in Apollo 13 was compress a story that took several days into 90minutes. But overall it might just be the most "close to the actual truth" film ever made. Couple of interesting notes. All the scenes in the Lovells house are really in the Lovells house. Its the same house they lived in at the time and they still live there. It wasn't a set. Tom Hanks and Kathleen Quinlan went and stayed with the Lovells for a couple of weeks to get their mannerisms. Marilyn Lovell has said Kathleen Quinlan did her so well her own family said it was freakish. She apparently got her voice and hand mannerisms perfect. In the final scene on the deck of the Aircraft Carrier Jim Lovell does a cameo as the "Captain." He's the older guy who shakes Tom Hanks hand. Its is own personnel uniform because in his words to wear anything else would be impersonating an officer.

@ThahnG413 Guessed right. its not only in the "this is as good as it gets" they really did make an effort. Heads' up you will upset people if you just ignore the effort they made. There was no wire work it was all done in actual free fall inside a jet doing ballistics. They really did make the effort and if you belittle that, expect to be told where to go. If you are interested get "Shadow of the Moon" it was made by some of the crew who did Apollo 13 and they interviewed many of the surviving Apollo Astronauts. IMHO its the best documentary of any type on the Apollo program ever.

@ThahnG413 Whether you intended or not you came across as belittling their work.

@ThahnG413 WELL IT CAME ACROSS THAT WAY

@ThahnG413 YOUR ORIGINAL STATEMENT AND THE FACT YOU WANT TO KEEP ARGUING. You are the most pompous arrogant self righteous clown I've had to deal with in a while. I bet people walk away from you all the time because you're always telling them EVERYTHING they should think.
