  1. We actually had the same fear in Australia with what we call "Native Title" which had a landmark decision in our courts called Mabo (pronounced mar - bow). It started a whole process called Reconciliation. Is it a long slow process that most Australians would like to see go faster? Absolutely. Has it been messy at times? Absolutely. Have the fears of people had of being kicked of their land or home happened? NO Has it helped our whole country be a better place? YES, a 1000 times YES. Do we still have a lot of work to do? YES. Check New Zealand and Canada they are 2 other countries that are also well down similar paths to reconciling their pasts.
