  1. Its NOT actually a controversial subject to discuss. The problem is HOW certain people FRAME the DISCUSSION and what their motives are for raising the subject. To give you a far less controversial example. Here in Australia (my country) we are having a rather heated public debate over nuclear power. I am an engineer and I would love to have a SENSIBLE PUBLIC DISCUSSION on nuclear energy because if our population growth continues on its current path then we'll need some big power stations. The reason we CANNOT have that sensible public discussion right now because political actors and agitators on BOTH sides are pumping out mixtures of fact & fiction at such a rate that by the time anyone can answer anything 20 more videos have been posted on social media. And that's what they want - the public discussion so confused and noisy that the majority of the public have no idea what to decide. And that's what most of these people are about. Its NOT about dealing with any of societies issues its about MAKING as much noise as possible so that decisions CAN'T BE MADE that they don't want.
