HEY RORY AND YES I WANT TO SCREAM THIS AT YOU That whole mantra that economists have rammed down everyone's throats for the last 30years about "benefiting consumers with cheaper goods" has always been a load of garbage. It was all based on the misguided concept that we could retrain anyone who worked in a factory as a coder for financial advise or some other service based job AND THAT WAS ALWAYS BULLSHlT. I am an engineer who works in industrial control systems, automation and robotics. I do write the code that makes factories and other things like water treatment plants and mineral processing plants WORK and there just isn't anyway to take someone off the factory floor to do my job. The whole mantra about service based economics AND IT CAME OUT OF BRITAIN was garbage from day 1. Australia adopted it and its done nothing but wreck our economy and created disaster after disaster leaving many people WORSE OFF in low paying jobs. What's the point of cheaper goods if people can't buy them?
