  1. I think Peters assessment on the microchips was very good but less on this. The Russians didn't damage Nord Stream (why would they when its a cash cow) and the Americans made no secret they wanted Germany to not become reliant of Russian gas while Putin was in power. Plus America has staggering amounts of gas that it simply burns. Go watch one of Peter's longer talks where he shows satellite photos of America at night. The Americans don't want to keep burning that gas they want to sell it and make money. Its a pretty damn simple thing to understand why America or "certain Americans" with a lot of influence didn't want Nord Stream 2 to come on line. I think this will be a rough patch but Germany will get through it. FYI - I'm Australian and I know we can send you a few boatloads of LNG to get you through the winter.
