Go look around YouTube America has lots of EVERYTHING. Its what you have form being physically a damn big country. I recently saw a video on Lithium and they had showed there's some massive deposits in Montana (I think?) The issues are can these reserves be mined without doing more damage than is acceptable and sadly when it comes to NOT GIVING A DAMN about screwing up the local landscape American corporations are among the worst in the world. Don't take that the wrong way. I'm Australian and we are almost as bad and at times certainly worse.

Go tell that to a neoliberal economist and watch them freak out. As far as they are concerned the only place where economic value happens is in the markets. Yes its a ridiculous concept but its what they actually believe.

@SkyRiver1 We have the same problem in Australia all over the place and in every industry. Its one of the collection of economic policies that comes out of Chicago School economics that we now call neoliberalism. It started with Reaganomics in America and Thatcherism in Britain and has infected the entire developed world while screwing the non-developed world. There was a damning as all hell report by the Rand Corporation a couple of years ago into wages and an even more damning report September 2022 by the US Congressional Budget Office into Family Wealth. Once you start to get your head around how much money the Top 10% and in particular the Top 1% have taken in the last 40 years then its pretty easy to see why so many people think the world is F⋃CKED. If you want to see something really interesting on HOW they get away with it. There's a brilliant documentary called "The Silent Killer of the Middle Class" which is about tax evasion. Its amazing how they do it.

@chickenfishhybrid44 Do people like EVER bother to read what people are saying before you act like a complete M0R0N? Have you ever stopped to think about who owns the companies doing the damage across Africa, Asia, Central & South America? Its mostly a collection of European and AMERICAN companies. Yeah sure I know the Chinese are among the worst - they have damaged or destroyed over 20,000 waterways in the last 30 or so years. Then there's their coal issue. Yeah sure I know the Indians do stuff like pump raw untreated sewerage into their rivers by the cubic meter per second. I've seen the footage and its pretty ghastly. Hey why don't you check out what the AMERICAN oil companies did in Central and South America. Look up what Texaco (now part of Chevron) did while drilling in the Lago Agrio oil field of Ecuador. That's part of the case where Chevron had a lawyer (Steven Donziger) imprisoned in America for refusing to hand over confidential client information.

@chickenfishhybrid44 And for the record go and look up Superfund on Wikipedia its about the CERCLA act which is the EPA program clean up illegal waste dumps. Currently the program has over 40,000 sites on its books. Sorry buddy but American companies suck when it comes to environmental damage BOTH inside America and outside America. The only difference is when they do it INSIDE America there's still a chance the victims can get compensation in the courts.
