  1. WHAT PETER and EVERY other person who thinks the countries that gave up their manufacturing to China does not get is that manufacturing NEEDS ENERGY. As countries like Australia (my country) allowed manufacturing to end we didn't need the energy things like our (then 4) car plants and all the component suppliers needed wasn't needed so among other things people STOPPED building power stations. The last time Australia built a new power station capable of over 1,000MW (megawatts) of base load was 1993. I suggest you look up the list of power stations for your state or nation on Wikipedia and look for power stations over 1,000MW. Note that things like the Alta Wind farm in California don't count because even though its 1,400MW is wind which is great but its NOT baseload power, its intermittent power. So the real problem with things like Bidens Chips Act is not building the chip factory its powering them and the same goes for any other manufacturing. Yes this is a major issue in Australia where we have NOT THOUGHT through the issues.
