As an Australian who went to college in America an watches British politics a reasonable amount. You might want to add in that British politics is a SHlTSHOW its just not as much of a SHlTSHOW as America but damn you guys tried hard with Brexit. And before you ask - YEAH I know Australian politics isn't much better but at least we rejected our Trumpist billionaire and we didn't punch ourselves in gonads like Brexit, but then we have also let the Americans con us out of several hundred billion for submarines.

@USandGlobal Yeah I'd agree but that's only because its so rare that the Americans actually do what places like Australian and Britain do. Forget the elections our parties rip themselves apart on such a regular basis its hard to know who in charge today let alone tomorrow. We used to have jokes about how many New Zealanders were coming to Australia. They ended up throwing that back at us with - "Which one of you is in charge and will you still be in charge tomorrow?" I'm certain if there was a Far Side for Australian politics it would have aliens landing and saying "Take us to your leader" and the Australian asking "Which one - today's or tomorrow's?"

@USandGlobal Just wait for the Brits to finally stop howling and work out exactly how they were conned into Brexit. Plenty of them know but few have ever listened. It wasn't the Russians although they did their bit of meddling. It was actually an American billionaire doing a Beta Test of his public manipulation systems. His name is Robert Mercer. He's a reclusive tech billionaire with some weird views on how the world should work. He's most known for funding Breitbart and Cambridge Analytica and Brexit was a Beta Test of what they had at Cambridge Analytica and because NOBODY has held him accountable he's still out there with a lot of money, people, skill sets and technology. He actually did his PhD at the same university I did my degree at.

@thelonerick The French subs aren't outdated. They are the latest development. The version we were buying with had what might be considered an outdated power plant but that was all. What also might have been questionable is were we getting the latest versions of all the electronic surveillance and weapons systems. If you want to talk about something that is outdated go and look at the Sub Brief (here on YT) about the German 212 CD from about a year ago. He talks about the outer hull shape which has changed from the earlier versions and how that shape is consistent with stealth aircraft. he notes that the British Astute also incorporates similar design features BUT the American Virginia DOES NOT. So if we are talking about being out dated the we possibly should be talking about the Virginia HULL DESIGN.
