AUSTRALIAN HERE: I have been saying for months now that the GREATEST THREAT to the entire Western developed world are these culture war M0R0NS in America who think that ANYONE who does not agree 1,000,000,000% with their latest whim is the worst human ever and needs to be locked up or exterminated. If the security issues affect America it ALSO AFFECTS AMERICA'S ALLIES like Australia, Canada, Japan, Britain,.... BUTas Peter has pointed out the US$ is the worlds reserve currency AND ITS NOT CHANGING because its simply impractical to change. SO NONE OF US can afford America to become either unreliable or unstable because some rednecks want to play chicken with BOTH America's security and America's economy at the same time. I have heard all of Peters arguments about why America DEMOGRAPHICALLY is fine going forward while the rest of us are in serious trouble (including Australia and yes Pete thanks for the heads up on that because NOBODY here speaks about it) BUT THIS ISSUE IS ALSO OUR ISSUE. What happens to everyone else if the crazy faction of American politics, who believe in anything but actual facts, gets even more power than they have now and start doing some really bonkers stuff like cancelling all support for Ukraine as they're threatening? Yeah they'll do stuff that sends America into a spin but this sort of stuff affects the other 7.7 Billion people on the planet in ways that ARE NOT PRODUCTIVE.
