  1. Aerospace engineer here: I actually work in industrial control systems and have worked across a number of industries. I am also formally qualified in 2 areas of safety engineering. Engineers across the board have been trying to tell people about the problem of economists and Accountants for decades and NOBODY WILL LISTEN. After the Boeing Max-8 accidents I wrote to Ralph Nader who's niece died in one of the accidents. I gave a lengthy explanation of what I knew part of the problem was, which is a formal safety review of how a the MCAS would respond to faults. That type of review is called a CHAZOP. Its a special form ot the standard HAZOP (Hazard & Operability) studies most engineers know about except its for control systems (hence the C in front of HAZOP). So after explaining what a CHAZOP was and telling Ralph Nader what types of documents to go and look for I got IGNORED.
