@petecarroll3949 Sadly in almost every Western developed nation there is a difference between having some evidence and having enough to prosecute a specific crime. Sadder still is how people like Trump know just how far to take things so they avoid accountability. Remember despite the body count they only got Al Capone on tax evasion. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

You're absolutely right, but there's one problem and its called the 1st Amendment and it allows every American to voice their opinion no matter how stupid, no matter how idiotic, no mater how repulsive it is. As I understand it short of specifically doing something or specifically saying they are going to do something then its really hard to prosecute anything like this in America. I'm Australian but went to college in America and I find it so sad that one of the greatest gifts any nation ever got gets abused so badly. I did engineering but some of my mates were pre-law and we discussed many times the differences between Australian and America. These days I am convinced America has the best constitution of any country, except for one flaw. Its possible (almost too easy) for people like these to take advantage of it. For sure we have idiots like this in Australia too. Go watch some of our recent anti-mask, anti-vax and COVID denier protests had. We're still hiding our heads in shame over that. But this stuff where people are calling government officials and harassing them is handled differently. It can be very serious trouble in Australia to harass government officials particularly if they have just been doing their job. If a government official does wrong you can call it out, but you can't threaten or harass them like this. We have most of the same freedoms to speak out just like America does, but we don't allow people to use free speech laws to harass others like this.

@mocheeks709 I believe you are right on that but actually listen to what these people are saying. Their lawyers would challenge where's the actual words that directly state the threat as in "when I find you I will shoot you." As I say the 1st is an extraordinary gift that almost no other nation has or has to the same extent. If the US Government or any other local or state government does something requiring redress then you CANNOT be silenced irrespective of any government claim. In almost any other country that doesn't hold. All they usually have to do is claim security requirements. In many countries its simply a matter of throwing people in jail or outright killing them. Just recently in Australia we had journalists charged with security crimes over a story regarding Australian soldiers and war crimes in Afghanistan. In America that could not happen, because of the 1st. This is why I think the 1st is so important and its just as important that it isn't abused by clowns being idiotically selfish.
