I advise all American to look at what just happened in Malaysia and a few months back in Bolivia. It makes America look like a joke when other countries do lock up their politicians when they do the wrong thing.

@johnshite4656 As I said go look at what just happened in Malaysia and only a few weeks ago in Bolivia. Despite all of what America CLAIMS to stand for and what it actually does happen its actually amazing how ignorant so many Americans are. FYI - I'm Australian but went to college in America. I did engineering but a bunch of friends were pre-law and went on to become lawyers. I ended un in a lot of discussion on the US Constitution. it was the late 80s so they had all done Civics in high school and were very keen on the US Constitution and explain to me how great it was. I can barely recognise America right now. What's going on was meant to be impossible. The US Constitution was written so that no one person could become an unaccountable king or that a small group of people could hold absolute unaccountable power. The whole system of House, Senate, SCOTUS & POTUS was meant to prevent this happening. I find it all really sad and hope America can find a way past the Trump Era.

@tammyboon6259 I don't know what to make of Liz Cheney as she has such a chequered family history. Her father is a disgrace who should have been pulled back into line long ago. He pushed the boundaries on behavior and corruption that made it so much easier for others to go even further. He was without doubt one of the key players that started America down the slippery sloped it is on right now. That not only has a profound effect on every America, but also to the rest of the world. Sorry fo the long answer below and you might already know this. I keep trying to tell people the giant threat America poses to the world is the US Dollar is the worlds reserve currency. Most people don't know what that actually means. In 1944 at Breton woods 44 allied nations agreed that the $USD would be the reserve currency. Yes - Breton Woods has been replaced but the $USD is still the reserve currency. Part of that is ALL of US store some of our gold reserves in New York at the Federal Reserve (hence the name "reserve"). Remember those giant piles of gold in Die Hard 2?? Yes - that place. When countries trade or need another currency to do some business people go into that vault and move gold bricks from pile to pile. Even countries that hate America (like Russia, Iran,...) have gold there because its how the world economy works. When they say they are freezing a nations assets what they mean is nobody is touching your stack of gold in New York. So all of the worlds trade, even when people use other currencies all relies on the Unites States of America being a RELIABLE and STABLE nation. Sorry for the long answer but I hope it explains why the rest of the world is more nervous about America than China and Russia combined.

@tammyboon6259 He was democratically given the arse but it was for multiple breeches of the rules. He was at least held accountable.

@tammyboon6259 Your right on all accounts about Lindsey Graham, which should make everyone wonder what blackmail Trump has that he flipped so hard. if you go even further back LG was one of those very few GOP boys who spoke out against the Bush Whitehouse and the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse scandal. Around that time LG had huge street cred with other nations. Now he's just sad. On Bannon, never underestimate that snake and never just dismiss what he says. He is one of the most dangerous and poisonous political snakes on the planet. He's a lot smarter that his detractors claim and a way better strategist than many realise. He has one weakness - arrogance. Bannon is insanely arrogant, but that stems from the fact that so many of the poisonous snakes in American politics there has been no accountability of people in that environment. Once Ford pardoned Nixon when Nixon hadn't even been charged with a crime it basically said to those political snakes "Go ahead and do whatever you like because nobody is going to hold any of you to account."

@fionad6338 Yep you got it pretty simple and straight on that, but then when has politics either been simple or straight forward??? More importantly when has politics ever NOT been infested with ulterior motives.

@johnshite4656 You're right on Trump. At his age unless he's done something really bad we don't yet know about he'll get house arrest. At worst he'll go to where Charles Kushner (Jared's father) was sent. Go look it up its got a golf course next door. Seriously it looks like a boarding school or military college with a tall chain link fence. As for the "rules are meant to be broke" or the "rules don't apply to me" hypothesis that's just plain wrong and its the mantra that's been force feed to generations of Americans as part of the libertarian doctrine. Go look at Thom Hartman's vid he did recently on Ayn Rand a true narcissistic psychopath.

@MHO999999 Established principal NOT LAW! NOT LAW! NOT LAW! How manty times does this need explaining to some of you people? Trump is no longer in office. 1) How do you impeach someone who no longer holds public office? 2) The moment he left office he became a citizen just like everyone else. 3) Nowhere in the duties of the president does it list exemptions for fraud, tax evasion or stealing government property.

@tammyboon6259 Go back to 2015/16 and Lindsey Graham said that if the GOP nominated Trump he would destroy the GOP and they'd deserve it. On the CIA Kystal Ball (talking about how ineffective the Left is) pointed out the CIA's "Simple sabotage field manual" which is publicly available. It lists these things. • Insist on doing everything through “channels.” Never permit short-cuts to be taken in order to expedite decisions. • Make “speeches.” Talk as frequently as possible and at great length. Illustrate your “points” by long anecdotes and accounts of personal experiences. • When possible, refer all matters to committees for “further study and consideration.” Attempt to make the committee as large as possible – never less than five. • Bring up irrelevant issues as frequently as possible • Haggle over precise wordings of communications, minutes resolutions. • Refer back to matters decided upon at the last meeting and attempt to re-open the question of the advisability of that decision. • Advocate “caution.” Be “reasonable” and urge your fellow-conferees to be “reasonable” and avoid haste which might result in embarrassment or difficulties later on. And yes I have it in a word document for cutting and pasting to people.

@fionad6338 The Supreme court thing hit here in Australia like a bullet to the head. It just flew in the face of the reality of being a reliable developed society. As far as I'm concerned the far scarier thing SCOTUS did was the EPA decision that Gorsuch pushed through. If you look at his past his mother was appointed by Ronald Reagan to break the EPA to pieces and she ended up getting sacked. He's been on a crusade ever since to get even. Gorsuch wants to pull the FAA apart and all the other regulatory agencies. Imagine if he gets his way with the nuclear energy regulators. Gorsuch is unfit for public office. And he's just one of the problems. How is anyone meant to do business with America when your highest court is out of control.

@fionad6338 Its all there on his and his mothers Wikipedia pages.

@MHO999999 Don't tell people to calm the F down when you speak complete bullshite and they call it out. Funny how your previous comment claiming "established principle" is nowhere to be found??? If you spout nonsense don't complain when people call you out.

@tammyboon6259 No probs I absolutely get your point. Go watch the Sam Harris interview on Triggernometry (here on YT) and listen for when he compares the Hunter Biden versus Trump family issues. A few people (like Dave Rubin) went bonkers over his comments. He put that into perspective. If there is something about the Cheney family its NOT LOSING perspective over what they did. Dick Cheney was center to starting 2 wars by lying to the entire planet where over a million innocent lives were lost. I saw a recent documentary on that time and a whole pack of those people should have been dragged off to the Hague and be tried for crimes against humanity. That said you are right Trump is a bigger threat. The really big threat isn't to American Democracy its what that destruction causes the world. Back in 1944 at Breton Woods 44 allied nations plotted out how they would reconstruct what had been smashed and flattened. Part of that was the US Dollar ($US) was that it would become the worlds reserve currency. Part of that is we all these nations agreed to keep some of their gold reserve in a vault in New York at the Federal Reserve. That vault in the film Die Hard 2 with all the stacks of gold actually exists. When countries do business people go into the vault and move gold bars around. Bretton Wood might be gone but that system still exists and the entire world trading system relies on it working. Even Putin needs it to work. Now that he wants people to pay for his oil & gas in Russian Rubles they have to go and buy those rubles on the currency markets. The currency markets work because the system works. Key to the system working is the stability of the US Dollar. Even when international trade is done in other currencies it still relies on the UD Dollar, because as the reserve currency its the foundation on which its all built. Right now Trump and the billionaires backing his nonsense are a threat to a system that the entire world relies on and takes for granted will keep working as it has for the last 75+ years. Imagine if all of a sudden the entire world trading system stops because people can't rely on the US Dollar. YES - Trump's not simply a threat to US Democracy he's pretty serious threat to a lot of the world.
