  1. There's and entire nation called North Korea where most of the population think their murdering psychopath of a dictator is all but a god. The ancient Egyptians actually believed the pharaoh was a god. Japanese pilots deliberately got into planes and flew them into ships as an act of piety to their emperor. Despite all the evidence before them the German people democratically elected Hitler and the Nazis. There's nothing new in this. Its called mob psychology. Its highly effective with less educated societies or groups of people and even easier when you have groups whose information flow is filtered.
