  4.  @krusher74  You need to realise that there are 2 great forces that have been operating socially for most of the last 50 years. Like so many things there are Left & Right versions of this childish selfishness. 1) The well known and often derided Leftist nanny state brigade who preach that you cannot discipline a child because it will stunt their growth. The main complaint of this is that it raises people who think they can endlessly push the limits until they get their way. They interpret the word NO as push harder. 2) The radical Right libertarians who are far more dangerous and far more ruthless. I have heard them called "High Machiavellians." They don't just think the "ends justify the means" these people believe that anything is acceptable if they get their way. They are politically called realists in that they accept humanity is flawed including greed and therefore what their greed is part of the natural way. The reason why I think the Right version of this is more dangerous is because although the Leftist version produces annoying brats who can be incredibly destructive the Right version guarantees destruction because those people have no limits to what they will do to the rest of us. The Left are stupid, foolish and destructive, but the Right are simply willing to destroy the planet if they can't have their way.
