  1. There is NOTHING NEW about this and its NOT an American thing either. Here in Australia we have this done by both side of politics in the past. At one point the state of Queensland used to have the joke that sheep voted because the gerrymandering was so favorable towards farming areas.

Illinois, so I know where Ohio is and despite my feelings towards Buckeyes, Wolverines, Spartans etc. I hate to see what's being done to those states. In the 3-1/2 years I was there I had mostly very good experiences in across that entire region.
