I'm Australian but went to college there. Its been that way for generations. It mostly happens to be in the way they were taught history. In Australia at high school I did Egyptian, Sumerian, Greek, Roman, 2000 years of British History and eventually Australian history. Some might consider that narrow but what it gave me was a TIMELINE to this point in history where we live. I studied Orwell (Animal Farm and 1984) as well as Camus (the Plague). I even did All Quiet on the Western Front which was WW1 from the German perspective. I hated it at the time but now am grateful. Americans never got those perspectives and even our kids no longer get that type of history or perspective. Both my parents were high school teachers and I have friends who are current high school teachers. Those friends told me about 15 years ago there was a change and instead of history high school students would do "case studies." My parents and my friends all thought was insane because kids would have NO TIMELINE to frame things in. I'm Gen-X and I'm fed up with millennials who think they invented the Internet and are therefore smarter than everyone. When I was in college no American seemed capable to discuss anything that happened before the Pilgrims landed (1620) except for Jesus and Adam. Australia seems to be going in the same direction with the same results.

@annarae2396 Agreed, but I think you math needs improving, In 2020 there were 74,216,154 who voted for Trump and 81,268,924 who thought Biden was the answer to America's issues. By my math that makes 155,485,078 million Americans who haven't a clue about history because if they did they would have found other candidates.

@annarae2396 Political advertising isn't an American problem its just a few things America does amped up to another level (or 2 or 3 or more). America's money in politics has taught a lot of other countries WHAT NOT TO DO. Although Robert Mercer caught the Brits out with his stuff in Brexit.

@shihyuchu6753 There's a lot of issues with America that has NOTHING to do with Biden or Biden being President. The fact none of them are getting dealt is his fault. I've said to a lot of people that Biden was a way to get rid of Trump but he was NEVER the solution to America's problems. The best line anyone had on Biden's nomination (and this was before he was elected) when they were saying lets get back to normal, was "Joe Biden is the normal that got Trump elected." Biden isn't responsible for the Status Quo method of government that's brought the world to near disaster BUT he, the DNC and GOP are responsible for keeping it.
