Its called tribalism and its going to destroy western society. There's this incredible interview from 1984 with an ex-KGB agent name Yuri Bezmenov. For sure he was wrong about a few things, like teaching Marxism and it was the Soviet Union that collapsed a few years later not America. But listen to what he says about brainwashing. You have left 1 thing off that list - Civics. I'm Australian but went to college in America in the late 80s on a sports scholarship. I can remember how well versed in the Constitution my frat brothers, classmates and team mates all were. ANY OF THEM could easily explain and defend the basic tenements of the Constitution. Despite doing engineering a few of my frat brothers were pre-law so I ended up in plenty of discussions. What stuns me is how incredibly ignorant of the basics of the Constitution so many of these people have. I started asking about this a while back and every answer was "The Bush Administration defunded civics during the early 2000s". This really does stun people like myself because Americans used to be proud of their knowledge and understanding of the Constitution. I wasn't at first but these days I believe the US Constitution and in particular the Bill of Rights is one of the great achievements of human history. These days I can easily explain and defend the Bill of Rights which stuns some people, but I was surrounded by others WHO KNEW & UNDERSTOOD what they were talking about. For sure you are right about teaching critical thinking and the other subjects but if you really want to start fixing America then Civics MUST be on that list.
