Elon's got serious issues with both Tesla and SpaceX. I'm an engineer and he's quite typical of the tech salespeople who chase the deal with the sound knowledge they don't have to do any of the work to deliver that technology. It way more common than people think. The people who sell projects to both government and industry often make promises or agree to terms that no sensible person ever should but they are salesmen and salesmen are in general willing to tell any lie to get the deal signed. With Tesla he promised some things like driverless cars and the trucks With SpaceX he's promised to take people to Mars and start a colony. In both cases Elon was selling his companies techno fantasy future dreamscape to potential investors. Where Elon differs form many of the other fantasy sellers, is that he's very good at identifying technologies AND technology people that he can exploit. Part of that is his ability to use existing technologies that WORK (but developed by others) to sell "possibilities" and "potential" and promote his techno fantasy future dreamscape to potential investors.

@jamesmaddison4546 I agree Elon's a prick of a person, but I doubt you have any idea what an aerospace engineer is, what it takes to get a degree, or what engineers of any type do for work. To call Elon an aerospace engineer is an idiotic comment NO REAL engineer would make. It takes only seconds to check and find he has a B. Science in physics and a B. Arts in economics. Next time you want to make a stupid claim make sure its not so easy to fact check.
