  1. Australian guy here (who went to college in America) - YES. But it gets a bit more complex than a simple yes, because saying yes doesn't explain WHY? I'm an engineer and there's a very simple engineering principle that separates repairing from fixing. If you don't understand WHY something broke the only thing you are REPAIRING is something that will break again. If you find out WHY you can FIX the problem so that it doesn't break again. We have techniques called RCA (Root Cause Analysis) which is where you don't stop at the first explanation you keep digging until you get the WHY, as in the root cause.
